David Austin Roses:  Breeders of English Roses and winner of 22 Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medals, David Austin Roses are known for their beautiful blooms and wonderful scent. The rose gardens, located adjacent to the nursery and plant centre are home to the UK's National Collection of English Roses. It is here over 70 years ago, that David Austin first started breeding, as an amateur, this new breed of rose for the garden. Around 1995, David Austin and his son, David Jnr, started to look seriously at breeding roses for florists, using the same principles that had made his garden shrub roses so popular.  Today, the David Austin cut rose collection includes 14 individual varieties that are sought-after around the world for weddings, events and special occasions.
