Fleuramour Alden Biesen Flower Event 2017 - by coach
One of the most enjoyed events in the floral calendar is the Alden Biesen Fleuramour event which takes place every September in the prestigious and historic grounds of the National Commandery of Alden Biesen in Bilzen, Belgium.
New trends in floral design and floral arrangement will inspire you, along with demonstrations in which to take part. Celebrated floral designers create enchanting displays in the grounds and rooms of the 16th-century castle, Alden Biesen, set in the small city of Bilzen in Belgium - every year ECT take delighted floral travellers to this exceptional event.
2016 theme was 'Fire, Air, Water, Earth' and, as ever, it will showcase the very best of Europe’s floral artists. The breath-taking masterpieces that are created in the interior and grounds of Alden Biesen by highly talented floral designers use an array of botanical and floral materials. Each year the floral artists adapt their designs to different spaces with the result always being a spectacular burst of bloom and colour.
There is always a number of different and magnificent table settings, and also a chapel which is festooned in bridal and wedding floral displays. In a previous year, a spectacular display was created by Lana Bates showcasing the Avalanche collection by Meijer Roses - giving goosebumps to all who saw it.
No fewer than 35 rooms and halls are decorated with floral works by over one hundred designers from Belgium and beyond. Designers such as Lana Bates, Moniek Vanden Berghe, Nadine Van Acker, and Erika Oldenhof.
New varieties of flowers are featured every year in spectacular designs, such as a courtyard woven with a web of White Vanda Orchids, White Anthurium, Madonna Lilies and Spanish Moss.
A floral fashion show is held every year featuring magnificent glamour gowns created from flowers. The event’s opening day on Friday is famous for its ‘Hat Day’, when visitors are invited to wear headdresses and hats made from flowers. Please ask us to quote for your tour to include Friday.
