Jonathan Moseley - UK Summer Gala Tour
Elegant Stately Homes, a Champagne Reception, a Floral Competition, a Demonstration & Gala Dinner with Jonathan Moseley
Open to groups and individual bookings
We all like glamour and elegance and, with this in mind and working with Jonathan Moseley, we have created a tour which combines the love of flowers with the glamour of a gala evening and the elegance of two magnificent stately homes. All accompanied by renowned floral designer, Jonathan Moseley.
It all starts with you creating your own corsage to bring with you on tour. Do make sure you have two glamorous outfits: one for the formal dinner on the arrival night (for which the theme will be 'Gold') and the second for the gala evening on night two.
Staying in the 4-star DoubleTree by Hilton, you will enjoy afternoon tea on arrival. Don't forget to wear your floral creation for this evening's formal dinner - judging will be by Jonathan after dinner and the winner will be presented with a bottle of champagne!
The following day, we will all visit the magnificent Chatsworth House, where you will experience a bespoke tour of the gardens including the private greenhouses and cutting gardens, as well as an opportunity to explore the house. This evening the gala dinner will follow a champagne drinks reception and floral demonstration by Jonathan.
On our final day, we will visit the splendid Renishaw Hall where there will be a guided tour of the house and their beautiful award winning gardens, before onward travel home.
4-star DoubleTree by Hilton
This s a four-star property with health spa and is located 5 miles south of Sheffield and 13 miles from Chatsworth.
Arrive at our hotel, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea (served from 3-4pm in a private room for our group). In the evening there will be a drinks reception followed by dinner with the theme of 'Gold'. You are invited to compete by wearing your homemade corsage and, at the end of the evening, Jonathan will select a winner who will receive a bottle of champagne.
After breakfast, we will head to Chatsworth House, the magnificent home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. As a frequent guest floral artist at Chatsworth, Jonathan will be able to show you hidden gems in the garden and discuss designing for a grand setting. He will share his behind-the-scenes secrets on how he engineers and plans such floral extravaganzas as Florabundance Festival and their annual, festive Christmas at Chatsworth.
The evening brings the champagne reception and gala dinner. During the reception, Jonathan will create some floral designs, which will remain on display throughout the dinner.
On our final day, we will visit Renishaw Hall and Gardens - winner of Historic Houses Association/Christie’s Garden of the Year Award 2015, and home of Alexandra Sitwell, daughter of the late Sir Reresby and Lady Sitwell. There are many amazing and interesting things to see in the home and gardens including: stunning Italianate gardens, formal borders and fragrant displays of roses, including the “Rosa Lady Sitwell”. We will depart mid to late afternoon so that we will have time for a relaxing visit.
